If a roof is worn across several areas, a planned reroof can give you a clearer picture of materials, access and what sits underneath the covering.
Slate and tiled roofs
Tell us the current covering if you know it. On older homes and properties with adjoining roofs, the way slates or tiles match the surrounding roofline can matter as much as the choice of finish.
What a written scope can cover
Ask which parts of the roof are included, such as coverings, battens, underlay, ventilation and flashings. Access, scaffolding, disposal and any exclusions should be clear before work starts.
Older and shared properties
If the property is listed, in a conservation area or shares a roof detail with a neighbour, mention it early. It may affect what materials or approvals are needed and how access is arranged.
